In 2013, as the world’s first HLA typing lab, we started putting the breakthrough NGS technology, into routine use for HLA typing in a truly high throughput and highly parallelised fashion. Using this process, over 1 million potential stem cell donors are currently typed per year. In addition to NGS technologies, we still use legacy SSP and Sanger sequencing for specialised applications.

Long Range Sequencing

For patients and related samples, we are applying a workflow providing ultra-high resolution HLA genotyping.

HLA Genotyping by rSSO

For urgent genotyping requests, we are offering rSSO (Luminex) based HLA genotyping enabling next-day results.

Noninvasive Determination of CMV

Buccal swab sampling constitutes an attractive noninvasive alternative to blood drawings. We established an assay to determine the CMV status based on swabs.

Despite the high number of described alleles we are identifying novel variants on a daily basis.
